Pâte de verre occupies a distinctive place in Juliette Leperlier’s artistic journey. Fascinated by the processes through which matter is transformed, she did not immediately turn to this demanding technique. Before making it her own, she chose to explore other artistic horizons and experiment with different materials, gradually developing a personal visual language in which matter, light and image play an essential role.
Her work is rooted in an ongoing exploration of light, transparency and texture. Through pâte de verre, Juliette Leperlier creates sensitive, organic works in which matter itself becomes a language. Playing with solid and void, opacity and transparency, she explores both the depth of glass and its relationship with light. Her artistic approach, enriched by the dialogue between sculpture and photography, reveals the many possibilities of a material whose perception she continually questions.
