11—14.12.25 Antwerp Expo
On December 5, 1968, academy student Adriaan Raemdonck opened Gallery De Zwarte Panter. In 1970, the gallery moved into the chapel of the former Sint-Julianus Gasthuis on the Hoogstraat in Antwerp. Fifty-eight years later, the gallery in the old city center has become a landmark, the oldest active gallery in the country, and a magnet for visual artists, musicians, writers, tourists, and art lovers in general. Until 2024, Adriaan Raemdonck was national president of BUP (Belgian Modern and Contemporary Art Galleries). And until 2020, he was president of FEAGA (The Federation of European Art Galleries Association). He is now the Honorary President of both federations. Since 2005, he has been a jury member for the annual FEAGA Awards.
