For its first participation in Art Antwerp, MAGNIN-A gallery is delighted to present a dialogue between the works of Malian painter Amadou Sanogo and Angolan artist Ana Silva. Two artists who approach contemporary realities through the prism of tradition – that of Bambara culture and philosophy for Amadou Sanogo, and the art of embroidery inherited from her grandmother for Ana Silva. Seemingly light-hearted, Sanogo’s colourful canvases and Silva’s delicate embroideries explore universal issues and subtly convey the sometimes tragic realities of our times.
