Antwerp Expo

Husk Gallery

Rivoli building, Chaussée de Waterloo 690
Ground Floor #12
1180 Brussels, Belgium

Husk Gallery‘s booth will feature three artists: Belgian artists Peter Depelchin (b. 1985, Ostend) and Dirk Eelen (b. 1974, Louvain), alongside Spanish artist Juanan Soria (b. 1985, Ubeda). Depelchin’s and Soria’s works on paper demonstrate their meticulous drawing technique, whereas Eelen’s and Soria’s oil paintings highlight the potential of the medium. The artworks selected share a common focus on the themes of ‘memory’, the ‘unknown’ and the ‘forgotten’. The works explore how the past is embedded in our collective and personal memory, and how it evolves over time. The artists examine the boundaries of what we remember, the processes of historical interpretation and re-enactment, and the vital role of art in preserving memories and knowledge at risk of being lost.
