At Art Antwerp 2024 By Lara Sedbon will present a booth with three artists who are exploring the need for different reference points and new paradigms. While the figures of Ojisua Midegbeyan subtly emerge from greyish backgrounds, Benjamin Valode’s characters seem lost in a space without borders or limits. Stephen Whittaker’s works show the viewer a territory where space and time are uncertain, fragmented and evocative. Earth tones like ochre, red, beige and brown will characterize the booth and connect the works with each other. Stephen Whittaker’s folding screen will punctuate the stand with a three-dimensional presence. The salvaged materials of the screen are the remnants of a world gone by. A dreamlike veil hangs over the stand, inviting contemplation and the transmission of a different kind of energy.
