Galerie Fleur & Wouter will present a solo booth with works by Dutch artist and Rijksakademie alumnus Fiona Lutjenhuis (b. 1991). Being raised in a cult Fiona Lutjenhuis grew up with ideas about the world that are completely different from those of her contemporaries. As an artist she found a way to take this on as a topic and to incorporate speculative imagery into her work. For Art Antwerp, the artist has created a new series of her signature folding screens depicting her fantasy world. Inspired by religious triptychs, they combine classical motives such as the image of Mary or the lamentation of Christ with occult symbols, UFO’s and personal memories. The “room dividers” are accompanied by a mural and a wind chime hanging from the ceiling, offering visitors of the fair a whole world to delve into.
