At Art Antwerp 2024, galerie burster will present three artists of the gallery program: Bram Braam, Nina Laaf and Evelina Reiter. Each artist opens up different perspectives on social, political and personal issues. Bram Braam (b. 1980, NL) is inspired by the harsh environment and cityscape of Berlin. His works thematize the rapid and unrestrained development of the city and, in their pictorial compositions, show a new perspective on architectural constructions, decay, and new urban living spaces. Nina Laaf (b. 1977, DE) examines material qualities and their limits. Her latest works are characterised by a play between presence and absence and the question of what constitutes the actual, the essential, the original in colour and form. Evelina Reiter’s (b. 1998, DE) work subtly references 20th century expressionist and pop movements. While the motifs of that time primarily reflected the male perspective on the city and its inhabitants, Evelina Reiter develops a contemporary counterpart in her own visual language—a feminist kaleidoscope of urban experiences and raw emotions.
