Our sustainability pledge

Our efforts to improve sustainability & social commitment

– Our carpets are supplied by Rewind, whose products are 100% recyclable.

– In collaboration with GOFOREST we yearly plant 1 tree per participating gallery.

– We try to drastically reduce the use of plastic with multiple small efforts, such as reusable water bottles at the stands instead of plastic bottles, and real glasses for your champagne at the stand instead of plastic alternatives.

– Our catering by KTCHN is local, seasonal and homemade centered with the aim to reduce waste as much as possible.

– On public days, people between 16 and 26 years old pay a reduced fee of 10€. Children under the age of 16 can visit the fair for free.

– From Friday to Sunday,  free guided tours are offered by our main partners.

– We favour digital invitations. For our paper invitations, we use 100% recycled paper.

As part of the Easyfairs Group, we are members of the Net Zero Carbon Events pledge and commit to being net zero by 2050 and to halve our greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.

THE 6 MAIN INITIATIVES

Production & waste

We use all-in stands

We have implemented a strict waste management and waste reduction plan

  • We sort all waste
    • We put sorting bins at strategic locations
  • We are committed to reducing plastic and paper waste
    • We use recyclable plastic for our production needs
    • We provide digital signage whenever possible
    • We reuse printed banners, flags, and signs for future editions of Art Antwerp
  • We use eco-friendly cleaning products

2.

Energy

We implement energy conservation measures

  • We equip our all-in stands with LED lighting
  • We limit our energy consumption by not only strictly controlling the heating, but also the lighting and HVAC levels during the buildup and dismantling of Art Antwerp
    • We turn off electricity at night
    • During event setup and teardown, we limit the temperature to 18°C

3.

Travel & accommodation

We’re aiming to reduce travel emissions

  • We provide electric vehicle charging stations
  • We encourage visitors to come to Art Antwerp on foot, by bicycle, or by public transport
  • We encourage visitors and galleries to carpool to Art Antwerp
