Talk with Kaat Debo (moderator) and Sofie Van de Velde

Join us Saturday at the Tribune for an engaging conversation on Textile in Art, moderated by Kaat Debo, director and chief curator of MoMu, the Fashion Museum Antwerp, in dialogue with Sofie Van de Velde.

Kaat Debo studied literature at the universities of Antwerp and Berlin before joining MoMu in 2001 as a curator, contributing to the museum’s exhibitions and publications. Her expertise and vision quickly positioned her at the forefront of contemporary fashion discourse. From 2007 to 2008, she served as editor-in-chief of A MAGAZINE, further expanding her editorial and curatorial reach. In 2009, she was appointed general director of MoMu.

Throughout her more than 20 years at the museum, Debo has worked closely with leading international fashion designers and houses. She has realized over 50 exhibitions—several curated by her—many of which have traveled internationally to cities such as Paris, London, Tokyo, and Melbourne, contributing significantly to MoMu’s global reputation.

Between 2018 and 2021, Debo led the museum’s ambitious renovation and expansion, shaping its future as a dynamic cultural institution. In addition to her curatorial work, she is a frequent lecturer on contemporary (Belgian) fashion, sharing her insights with audiences worldwide.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear Kaat Debo and Sofie Van de Velde explore the intersection of textile, art, and contemporary visual culture.
